Cancer Is On The Rise For Millennials, And It’s Their Fault

I think that we can all agree that cancer is a horrible thing.  That is what makes this article so sad.  Cancer rates are on the rise for millennials, and it is their own fault.  Let me explain, and offer a solution.

The Problem – What the Research is Showing

While we still have a lot to learn about cancer, we know that certain types of cancer typically impact certain types of people.  For example, colorectal cancer, endometrial cancer, gallbladder cancer, kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer, and multiple myeloma, which is a cancer of the bone marrow.  These cancers have typically been found in the elderly, usually people that are in their 60s or 70s.  However, these cancers are all on the rise with millennials.  This is especially disturbing when the overall cancer rates are actually decreasing in men, and have stabilized in women.

The Cause – Why Cancer Rates are Increasing for Millennials?

While researches are not saying that it is the sole contributing factor, the evidence showed that the diseases on the rise are ones often associated with obesity.  Here is a small piece of an article on the same study that I found at https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/04/health/obesity-cancer-increase-millennials-study/index.html.

“Millennials are on their way to being one of the heaviest generations on record. Research in the UK shows at least seven in 10 people born between the early 1980s and mid-1990s will likely be overweight or obese by their mid-30s and 40s. Only five in 10 baby boomers were obese at that same age.
In the United States, according to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, more than 40% of Americans are obese, as are one in every six children ages 2 to 19.”

While there are exceptions, most people who are obese have total control over it.  However, they tend to live sedentary lifestyles, and don’t consume healthy diets.  With the vast amount of information out about the harms or obesity, it is disturbing that people pay so little attention to their health.

The Solution

When it comes to weight loss, I believe that one of the biggest obstacles is the overwhelming amount of information out there.  The truth is, weight loss (for most people), is simply a matter of calories in vs calories out.  If you take in more calories than you burn, your body stores that extra energy as fat.  If you burn more calories than you consume, your body uses the fat that you have stores, resulting in weight loss.  There are about 20 fitness programs that I could recommend, along with as many, if not more nutrition plans.  However, the truth is that people need to find what works for them.  that is why I am making only one product recommendation.  Beachbody on Demand provides over 700 workouts (something to fit everyone), from the top trainers in the world.  Additionally, it provides nutrition plans, recipes, and a support system.  All of this is available instantly, and for less than fifty cents per day.
