Body Combat

Body Combat, is it the program for you?  Les Mills has come out with some pretty powerful programs over the years.  The most famous of these programs must be Les Mills Body Pump.  It has helped people around the world get into the best shape of their lives.  Now, thanks to Les Mills Pump, the at home version of Les Mills Body Pump, you can get that incredible workout in your home.

Back To Body Combat

What is it, and will it work for you?  Body Combat is a martial arts focused program.  It combines a variety of styles, including karate, muay thai, taekwondo, and boxing.  Blending all of these styles together, you will use strikes, kicks, punches, and even katas, to burn an average of 737 calories per workout.  There are pros and cons to this program though.

The Pros Of Body Combat

  1. It burns a reasonable amount of calories
  2. It has energy packed music
  3. You will see results
I am a firm believer that when it comes to working out, anything is better than nothing.  That is not to say that Body Combat is just “anything”.  It is a solid workout.  It has energetic music, and effective moves.  The issues arise when you start to compare it to other programs.  Let’s take a look!

The Cons Of Body Combat

  1. On average, you burn less calories that you would with either Les Mills Pump, or Turbo Fire
  2. You need to work around the gym’s schedule
  3. You need to travel to the gym to workout
  4. You need to workout in front of others, which a lot of people are not comfortable with
While I would absolutely recommend Body Combat to somebody that is already going to the gym, they need that group feel to be motivated, and they have the convenience of being able to match their schedule up with when the gym offers the class, I do not feel that overall, it is the best program to use.  There are other programs out there that burn more calories, give you more options, and that you can do right in the comfort of your own home.
If you are serious about getting into the best shape of your life, I suggest that you check out one of the following programs.  If you are a big Les Mills fan, than check out the revolutionary at home version of Les Mills Body Pump.  This program was created when Les Mills partnered up with Beachbody, the creators of P90X, Insanity, 10 Minute Trainer, and more of the top fitness programs out there.
