I am going to approach the importance of taking care of your body in 3 different ways in this article. If none of them click with you, and convince you of the importance of taking care of yourself, I don’t know what to tell you. If I am able to spark something, act on it. Attempt #1 – Simple Facts
It is no secret that the overwhelming majority of people out there do not take crae of their body’s anywhere near as well as they should. This always baffles me, considering we only get one body. The better job we do of taking care of it, the longer we get to keep it. By negecting it, you are not only shortening the length of your life, but you are diminishing the quality of your life. Personally, I know 50 year olds that are in better shape than some of the 20 year olds that I know. Why? Because they take care of themselves.
Attempt #2 – Your Family
I know that I approach this in a way that some people get turned off by, but the simple truth is that what I am saying is, well, true. The better that you take care of your body, the longer that you will be around. Do you love your family? Do you have children? Do you want to be around for them as long as you can? Attempt #3 – Christ
I’m going to come at this from a Christian stand point, and hopefully it will connect with some people. If you are not a Chistian, hopefully what I said above will help you understand why it is so important to take care of yourself. Our bodies are created to be our temples, right? Christ lives in us and through us. If that isn’t a red flag to stop treating your body like garbage, I don’t know what is. You get once body, and it s your responsability to take care of it. DO IT!
I kept my arguments simple and straight to the point. If you ignore them, that is your choice. I really hope that you don’t though! Whatever your reason needs to be, find it. Stop making excuses, and start taking action steps. If you keep putting your health off too long, it may be too late.
